FOURTH TEAM OF 2009

team photo The Henderson, Tennessee, team served at Kitty. The Kitty congregation is located right next to the School of Biblical Studies. Brother H.M. (the director) and some of the students worked with the Tennessee team this week. Also one of the team members, brother Stephen, taught a song-leading class to the students.

The clinic saw almost 400 patients for the week, and nine people chose to become Christians.

We had several teens in the group, along with their youth minister, Chuck South. Many of the teens had been here before, and they did outstanding this week! They helped with Vacation Bible School as well as helped teach some wellness classes where they did some demonstrations.

This team brings down about 5 suitcases full of new children's clothes every year over the past few years to be used in benevolence. I have had the great honor and been so blessed to help distribute these after the teams have finished for the summer. This time, four of the team members asked me to set up for them to be involved in giving away, if they took their day off (Saturday) to do it. So we got that put together and had a wonderful experience. I have several pictures of that below. This project was started by Ann Lowe, whose daughter, Valerie Watrous, was killed in a hit-and-run accident. Valerie had been to Guyana on mission trips and had a passion for the work here. Her mother, Ann, wanted to do something to carry on in honor of Valerie, and she has a group of ladies who help her make and purchase new clothes to send here.
